The Aurora Community Health Commons (ACHC) is a shared vision among the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, Salud Family Health Centers and the Aurora, Colorado community. Most of Aurora’s underserved are low-income people of color who lack access to primary care, affordable housing, childcare, nutritious food, and other services that address social determinants of health. The ACHC’s holistic approach focuses on the intersections of integrated clinical care, affordable housing with a pathway to ownership, food security, early childhood education and workforce/economic development. ACHC will achieve these outcomes by collaborating with the community to create coordinated, comprehensive, and equal opportunities for individuals, families and communities in Aurora to thrive.

 

ACHC seeks a leader who is passionate about its mission and will be the catalyst to accelerate the development of this startup organization. This individual has experience working to address complex societal issues and understands the importance of involving the human perspective in all steps or stages of a problem-solving process.  They have demonstrated both strategic agility and the ability to execute plans to achieve quantified outcomes.  

 

This person must demonstrate success in cultivating relationships with diverse constituents including individuals, community groups, faith-based organizations, corporations, foundations, nonprofit organizations and government agencies.   This individual excels at building relationships and has experience raising private contributions.  

 

Candidates will bring financial and business management skills to ACHC. An understanding of business principles applied to a nonprofit organization, particularly a background in scaling sustainable program growth, promoting continuous improvement of program quality, and revenue enhancement and diversification, is required.

 

This individual is energetic, able to balance multiple priorities and is highly focused but adaptable. They may have prior experience in the nonprofit, corporate and/or government sectors that equip them to excel in a startup organization where no two days will be the same.  They have experience collaborating with partners and diverse external constituencies to achieve results.  This person flourishes in complex environments and loves working with communities.

 

This individual is results-oriented and will demonstrate success in leading financially sustainable projects, programs and/or organizations. The successful candidate has experience building durable relationships and collaborating with communities, program participants, partners, policymakers, donors, stakeholders and constituencies. As the key spokesperson for ACHC, this individual must have strong verbal and written communication skills that translate into effective communications across a variety of platforms.

This salary range for this position is between $165,000 and $185,000 and commensurable with experience. The successful candidate will be an employee of the University of Colorado Medicine, which offers a generous employee benefits program. The organization values need for work life balance offering approximately (3) weeks of paid time off accrued per year, 10 paid holidays, employees who are actively employed on July 1 will receive an additional day of paid time off, and (7) days of extended illness per year.
